Quick answers
How is FD maturity amount calculated?
In cumulative mode, the calculator compounds deposit interest using the selected compounding frequency and tenure to estimate maturity amount.
What is the difference between cumulative FD and payout FD?
A cumulative FD reinvests interest until maturity. A payout FD estimates regular monthly or quarterly interest payout instead of reinvesting it.
Does FD calculator include TDS or income tax?
No. It estimates interest and maturity before personal tax. FD interest is generally taxable, and TDS or final tax can vary by user.
Can senior citizen extra rate be added?
Yes. If the calculator includes a senior citizen extra rate field, it adds that extra rate to the base FD rate for the estimate.
Is FD return guaranteed?
A booked FD usually has a fixed rate for that deposit, subject to bank and scheme terms. Future FD rates, premature withdrawal rules, and tax treatment can change.
