Watch visual guideAn EPF corpus calculator estimates how your Provident Fund balance may grow by retirement age. It is useful when you want to connect salary structure with long-term retirement savings.
Use the EPF Corpus Calculator to enter current EPF balance, current age, retirement age, basic salary, PF wage policy, contribution rates, salary growth, and EPF interest rate.
EPF corpus formula
The calculator starts with your current EPF balance.
Each month:
- Employee EPF contribution is added.
- Employer EPF contribution is added.
- Interest is estimated on the running balance.
Monthly interest rate = annual EPF interest rate / 12 / 100
EPF corpus at retirement = current EPF balance + future employee EPF + future employer EPF + estimated interest
Employee EPF and employer EPF
Employee EPF is estimated as:
Employee EPF = PF wage x employee PF rate
Employer total contribution is estimated as:
Employer contribution = PF wage x employer PF rate
The employer contribution is split into employer EPF and employer EPS.
Why EPS is shown separately
Employer EPS is commonly estimated as 8.33% of PF wage, capped to the wage ceiling. The remaining employer contribution is treated as employer EPF.
For EPF corpus planning, the calculator adds employee EPF and employer EPF to the corpus balance. EPS is shown separately because it does not grow like the regular EPF corpus balance in this simplified calculator.
Use the EPF / PF Contribution Calculator if you first want to understand the monthly employee, employer EPF, and EPS split.
PF wage policy
The calculator supports three PF wage assumptions:
- Capped at Rs 15,000/month
- Full basic salary plus dearness allowance
- Custom PF wage
This matters because some employers calculate PF on the statutory wage ceiling, while others calculate PF on full basic salary.
Salary growth
The calculator increases salary once per projection year using the entered annual salary growth rate. This helps estimate future PF contributions when basic salary grows over time.
